A ceramic-lined settling section of 10 x D (nominal pipe diameter) should be provided here. Since ceramic-lined pipes are manufactured to match the nominal diameter, retrofitting is possible without the need for piping modifications.

Reducers serve as a centered transition between two pipe nominal diameters, functioning either as a reduction or an expansion. These transitions between nominal diameters create additional turbulence, which can lead to severe wear in media containing solids. The ceramic lining protects the pipeline at these points and ensures a long service life.
Two standard lengths are available. The short length is the shortest possible transition with a rise angle of less than 15°. The long length is recommended primarily for cases where low resistance is required or where there is a risk that the medium will be crushed or destroyed.
